Eating Gluten-Free on the South Shore: The Inn at Bay Pointe

Located in a beautiful marina, set back from busy Washington St, The Inn at Bay Pointe is a lovely place to enjoy a meal. What sets this place off from the many other sea-side restaurants in the area is their willingness to adapt their meals to suit their gluten-free diners.

While gluten-free I have eaten there twice; first, a decadent scallop and lobster risotto and then an incredibly light, flavorful bouillabaisse. Although they don't have a separate gluten-free menu, the diner can discuss what they are interested in with the wait staff and they can then speak with the kitchen to determine if, and how it can be made gluten-free.

Aside from their gluten-free-friendliness, their other meals look to die for. A family favorite is their lobster macaroni and cheese, which boasts enough whole lobster chunks to feed a small family. Their clam plate is similarly large, served on a platter at least a foot wide and the lobster special features a 2+ pound lobster, baked, boiled, or broiled. If you do plan on patronizing the Inn at Bay Pointe, however, get there early! As they do not take reservations, the wait is usually an hour + long.

Nota Bene: The Inn at Bay Pointe in no way has sponsored this post! I assure you, they have no idea who I am.
