no big dill's papa pancakes *Gluten-Free*

There is nothing worse than being in a food rut. This happens to me frequently too- I'll find something I love and eat it everyday until I can't even look at it. My food rut du jour has been breakfast foods.

In my opinion you can't beat Texas french toast, blueberry pancakes, or Belgian waffles. If you're gluten-free they are totally still within your reach, albeit with a little more effort and money. For an easy, readily accessible gluten-free breakfast you generally stick to eggs and processed meats (meh). Thus my food rut. I mean you can really only eat so many eggs until you turn into one.

A blog that I love following, no big dill, recently posted a recipe for German pancakes that is easily made gluten-free with the help of Jules Gluten-Free Flour Blend. The result is a delicious, popover/fried dough hybrid. If you too are sick of eggs or anything else, give the recipe a try!

Gluten-free Summer Orzo Salad

I had this orzo salad for the first time in the Bahamas. It's very tasty and is a total summer food. I hadn't made it in years since I haven't been able to find gluten-free orzo anywhere. This changed on a recent trip to Wegman's in PA. There is a brand Delallo that is very common in stores down there that makes a great gluten-free pasta that comes in all sorts of varieties including orzo!

This recipe is delicious warm or cold, but I prefer a little warm as the pasta is a little more malleable then. I found golden balsamic at my local Stop and Shop so I haven't tried the substitution so I don't know how it works.

I like to dice everything up really tiny so it doesn't overwhelm the little orzos. If the honey and balsamic vinegar don't mix well, I recommend putting it in the microwave for a few seconds to loosen it up a bit. I also only use about half an onion as I don't like it to be the dominant vegetable. Mix everything while the orzo is warm so it combines well.

Pair with chicken wings or burgers and corn on the con for a delicious summer meal!

Eating Gluten-free in Breinigsville, PA

Are you going to be in the Breinigsville, PA region and are looking for a great restaurant? Check out the Bonefish Grill.

They have a fantastic menu heavy on fresh seafood and several to-die-for deserts. I got the 'Chicken Lily' which was a chicken breast topped with goat cheese, artichoke hearts, and basil with a side of ratatouille and garlic mashed potatoes. I ate every bite!

For desert I had a macadamia but brownie which was a huge flour less brownie topped with macadamias, real whipped cream, and vanilla ice cream. I ate about half of it and finished the rest for breakfast! It was equally delicious warm or cold.

I am moat certainly going back next time I am in the area. Bonefish Grill is a great restaurant with plenty of gluten-free and gluten-full options and a classy atmosphere. It's also located within a lovely outdoor mall which is a bonus!

Eating Gluten-free in West Roxbury, MA

Looking for gluten-free pizza in West Roxbury? Check out Christos. They have easily the best gluten-free delivery pizza I've had to date even if it was fairly pricey.

Their pizza crust was very yummy and thicker than usual - which is a good thing! I got mushrooms and peppers and would definitely go back.

Just a heads up- when I started looking online I ran into some information that another shop, DeNo's had gluten-free pizza. Unfortunately when I called they said they didn't offer it.
