Gluten-Free Baked Apples

Apple pie is probably the greatest dessert in existence.  Unfortunately it's also really hard to make gluten-free. 

If you're craving that fall apple dessert, like I was last week, give baked apples a try. It's pretty simple, too. Take a few good baking apples, I like cortland. Cut them in half, and scoop out the seeds and core. Fill the centers with a mixture of gluten-free oats, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Top with a pat of butter and bake at 350 until the apples are soft and the topping crunchy. 

I didn't peel my apples but I think in the future I might. This can be served as a sweet breakfast or a yummy dessert.
